Maintaining parquet and laminates
For regular cleaning of parquet floors and other wooden floor coverings, the most suitable tools are microfiber cloths, a vacuum cleaner, and a slightly damp cloth.
To clean stains, use a slightly damp cloth; a cleaning agent intended for wooden floor coverings can be added to the water. Make sure the cleaner is intended for lacquered or oiled parquet (depending on how your parquet is protected).
For the protection of lacquered and oiled surfaces we recommend care products designed for this purpose.
Indoor climate conditions
When it comes to preserving the condition and appearance of parquet, controlling the indoor climate is very important:
- the recommended temperature is between 18° and 22° Celsius,
- and relative air humidity between 55-65 %.
To monitor the indoor climate you will need a hygrometer. Be particularly careful in winter, when relative air humidity often drops below normal. The consequence is the formation of gaps. In that case, air humidifiers should be obtained immediately. There are many manufacturers and models on the market.
